Yet another movie, which has been in the making for a long time, has been finally released. Shatru was expected to change the image of actor Prem from a romantic hero to that of an action hero. Well, Prem does make an honest attempt in transforming his image however it is the script that fails to complement his efforts.
The plot is the routine – an angry and young police officer taking on the most notorious villain of the village. The protagonist is on a mission to weed out the rowdy elements. In the process, he happens to meet his live interest (Dimple Chopde). There are several interesting characters in the movie, but their presence does not make the movie lively.
The performance by Prem is commendable; he’s convincing in his dialogue delivery, his histrionics and screen presence is apt. May be Prem should continue to look for similar roles but with a better script. The narration by JK is weak with too many loose ends in the plot. A few scenes have no relevance to the plot.
Dimple Chopde adds to the glamour quotient of the movie. However, she has been completely wasted as an actress. As usual, Rangayana Raghu and Sharath Lohitashwa excel in their roles. Music by Arjun Janya does not live up to the expectations. The songs are forgettable.
