When a little-known director announced to the world that he had roped in Veena Malik, it made headlines at the national level. Silk, Sakkath Hot! will definitely make headlines again, not because it is a great movie, but for the fact that Veena Malik is hardly clothed throughout the movie.
The intention of the movie-maker is clear – skin show of a Pakistani actress. The producer seems to have well utilized Veena’s oomph and glamor considering the record remuneration they paid her to be part of the movie, which is devoid of any sophistication or finesse.
The story is such a drab that the audience is forced to entertain themselves with Veena’s skin show. The movie is about the travails of an innocent woman and the she ends up marrying a rowdy, who is obviously not the man of her dreams. When they realize that they have picked two of the oldest professions, it hardly matters to them and life goes on.
Akshay, the son of the producer and the male lead of the movie, hardly justifies his role. He needs to improve his acting skills. No doubt Veena is the show stealer she has also extensively shed her clothes, even when there is no need for it. The strong support cast appear briefly.
The director Trishul may have been under the impression that skin show may attract audiences in droves to theatres. That approach has rendered the movie no less than any B grade movie. The sum and substance of the movie is lost in the process. The director has absolutely no grip over the narration. At times, the movie gives an impression that it has been made in a hurry.
The only saving grace of the movie is the melodious music by Jassiegift. This movie is strictly for diehard fans of Veena Malik
