Simbu's Osthi starts rolling in Mysore

The shoot of Silambarasan's Osthi, a remake of Salman Khan's blockbuster Dabangg, started in Mysore on Sunday (June 26).

In Tamil the character he plays is Vel Murugan,  Sonakshi Sinha's role is being done by Richa Gangopadhyay, and Jithan Ramesh plays Arbaz Khan’s role.  Sonu Sood is reprising his villain role from the original along with Nassar and Revathi playing the hero's father and mother's roles. Thaman is the music director.

Meanwhile STR who was busy with his Poda Podi work, motored down to Mysore on Sunday.

STR has given 35 days continuous days for the first schedule of the film in a village near Mysore, where a huge set has been put up

Osthi is produced by Mohan Apparao and T Ramesh under Balaji Real Media banner. There are strong rumours in the trade that it will be marketed by Sun Pictures.
