Singam-2 audio launched sans Ajay Devgan!

Suriya’s Hari directed Singam 2 audio was launched at Chennai Trade centre on Sunday (June 2) evening. However, Bollywood star Ajay Devgan who was to attend as chief guest and launch the audio failed to turn up!

 In his absence the audio was launched by Kiccha Sudeep, Karthi, Lingusamy and cast and crew of Singam 2. The audio launch was a closed door affair as a major channel had exclusive rights over it.

But before the launch, Prince Pictures the producers of Singam 2 held a press meet in which Suriya, Hansika, Hari, Devi Sri Prasad, cinematographer Priyan, lyricist Vivega and producer Lakshmanan were present.

Suriya said that Singam 2 is his third film where he plays a cop.

Said Suriya : “The decision to do a sequel was because the character I portrayed Dorai Singam became very popular. Actually it has given me a new reach among mass audiences. The Singam franchise has been accepted by the audiences.”

Director Hari says : “ I had the idea of a sequel when the original was being made. The movie begins in the southern most part of India and ends in South Africa. Singam 2 will showcase an authentic Indian cop on a mission.”

Devi Sri Prasad said that there are six peppy songs in the film and Suriya has performed some difficult dance movements. The film is scheduled to release in the last week of June.
