At the grand audio launch of his upcoming film Velaikkaran, Sivakarthikeyan made a gutsy move saying that he will not act in advertisements anymore.

“If I entertain audiences with nine films, would love to do one challenging film like Velaikkaran, which personally brought a lot of changes in me”, said the actor.

“After knowing and acting in the script of Velaikkaran, decided to not act in advertisements. I don’t want to misguide people. Yes, I endorsed one brand (Pothys) before but henceforth, will not be featuring in any advertisements”, added Sivakarthikeyan.

“In my entire career, Mohan Raja is the only director whom I voluntarily approached and asked whether we could do a film together mainly because of the Thani Oruvan impact. People mocked Raja sir for remakes without even aware of the fact that bringing the magic of hit films is not an easy task. I rejected around 10 remake films because I thought that can’t bring justice to those scripts”, said the actor.

Sivakarthikeyan recalled how he and his good friend Arun Raja Kamaraj were supposed to act in a small cameo in Aeganand during the shoot, they saw Nayanthara for the first time and then, he shared screen space with the actress for a special song in Ethir Neechal. “From Aegan to Velaikkaran, one thing which never changed in Nayanthara is her punctuality and perfection, she owns a strong market because of these two factors”.

Sivakarthikeyan also said that Fahad Faasil, who plays a pivotal role in Velaikkaran is an international actor. “Because of Fahad Faasil’s performance, I tried to deliver my best”, said the actor. Sivakarthikeyan also thanked Anirudh Ravichander for being a great strength to his career. “Out of 11 eleven films in my career, Anirudh has composed for five films. His contribution to my growth is impeccable”, said Siva.

The actor thanked Vijay Vasanth for giving away the title for the film. “Vijay Vasanth had bought the rights of Rajinikanth sir’s Velaikkaran from Kavithalaya Productions but when we asked, he readily gave it to us”, he said.
