Tirumurugan of ‘Mettioli’ fame who has already established himself as a successful TV serial director, has clicked on the big screen. Em Mahan, the directorial debut of Tirumurugan released on Sep 24 has been declared a hit by the trade.

Em Mahan proves the point that slow and steady wins the race. This family entertainer released along with the highly hyped Sillunu Oru Kadhal started off with a lukewarm opening but due to good word-of-mouth has proved to be the winner. Long queues of women and children can be seen outside five screens in Chennai. And in B and C stations, the film is going great guns.

The trade says that the film is slowly but surely turning into a super hit and if the first week collections in Chennai was 62 percent the second week it climbed to 74 and by third week it is steady at 85 percent.

The songs, comedy and sentiments are attracting the crowds. It is a feather on the cap of Bharath who has become the darling of middle class families across the state.

Hats off to ‘Satyajyothi’ Thyagarajan, the producer for having the guts to make a film without any kind of masalas and promoting it aggressively.
