[USA] Aug 06 (ANI): Patrick Stewart, who is all set to return to the 'Star Trek' world, was welcomed back by the team with open arms.
Sonequa Martin-Green, who plays officer Michael Burnam on Star Trek: Discovery, posted a picture of herself with Stewart on Instagram. The caption said, "This man. How I've looked to him over the years for creative education, inspiration and guidance. Absolutely THRILLED that he's returning to the fold. We stand on your shoulders @sirpatstew and what broad shoulders they are. #startrekfamily."
The actor will reprise his role as Jean-Luc Picard in the upcoming 'Star Trek: The Next Generation' TV series.
Meanwhile, Anthony Rapp posted a group photo of the Discovery's team (including Patrick Stewart) on Instagram.
The previous 'Star Trek: The Next Generation' series ran for a whopping seven seasons with around 170 episodes, which helped them earn 19 Emmy awards.
Stewart starred in 'Star Trek: Insurrection' released in 1998 and 'Star Trek: Nemesis as Picard' released 2002. (ANI)
