Well-known multilingual actress Suman Ranganath has been roped into play an important role in Neer Dose, a comedy movie featuring comedy star Jaggesh and Ramya.
Originally, Kannada actress Bhavana was supposed to play the role, but she backtracked at the list minute prompting director Vijay Prasad to cast Suman.
Suman played the heroine’s role in Kannada movies early in her career before moving on to other languages. Her second innings in Sandalwood has been through item dances and supporting actor roles.
She became popular more as an item dancer after the song Chitranna Chitranna from super star Upendra’s movie Buddivantha became a hit.
However, the actress has been carefully selecting the item dance offers. This year, she danced to an item number in Yogi’s movie Jinke Mari. But the movie sank without a trace. Last year, she was part of an item dance in Sandalwood’s first full-length 3-D movie, Katari Veera Sura Sundarangi also featuring Upendra in the lead role.
Subsequently, she acted in a special role in this year’s blockbuster Mynaa. In Neer Dose, a comedy thriller, Suman will be portrayed as a Bharatanatyam dancer. The director Vijaya Prasad had earlier worked with Suman Ranganath in Siddlingu (2012), in which incidentally Ramya was the female lead. It is clear that in Neer Dose, she will not be dancing to any item song.
Much of the shooting for the movie has completed while a few scenes involving Jaggesh and Suman are pending. Ramya is paired with Jaggesh for the first time in her career.
