Shah Rukh Khan, who will be seen playing a superhero in the upcoming Ra.One, is hoping the genre would be accepted by the Indian audience.
"We have tried a different kind of a genre. It hasn't been tried earlier and is new to all of us. So we are giving our best shot. Hope we succeed and it is accepted well by all," Khan told reporters at a Mumbai press call.
"One of the problems is that not many superhero films have been made in India. We haven't seen such films except for Krrish and Drona," he said.
Khan said that he was doing the film for son Aryan, who wanted him to see him play a character like Superman.
"I'm doing it for my son who wanted to see me playing Superman," he said.
Ra.One reportedly revolves around a software engineer (SRK), who's settled in Miami. He has to defeat a self-created virtual monster called Ra.One, which threatens to destroy the planet. The film also stars Kareena Kapoor.
