A press meet of Suriya’s Si-3 scheduled for release on February 9, was held at Prasad Lab Preview Theatre in Chennai on Sunday evening.

At the meet the producer of the film KE Gnanvel Raja of Studio Green said: “Si-3 will release worldwide  on February 9 worldwide. The picture has come out well according to a select group who saw the film at a sneak preview. I’m confident that it will rock as Suriya has the second biggest market business wise in Kollywood after Rajinikanth. He has also a huge fan base in Andhra and Telengana, where the dubbed Telugu version will open big.”

Gnanavel Raja also apologised to fans of Suriya for the delay and multiple postponement in release of Si-3. He said reasons beyond their control like passing away of former chief minister Jayalalithaa, Cyclone Varadh, demonetisation and Jallikattu agitations delayed the film. Gnanavel said February is lucky month for Studio Green as they have tasted success with Karthi’s Paruthiveeran, 10 years back.

Director Hari said he has made the film in his usual racy manner, with never a dull moment. Hari said: “Originally Suriya and I had worked on another script. But fans wanted Si-3 as it had tremendous brand value and we obliged. The third part will link the two parts in an appropriate manner. Suriya is a terrific actor and he can make it work on screen.

Suriya concluded the meet and said: “My mother saw Si-3 last night and later she told me that she liked it better than the earlier parts. I was truly touched.  The action scenes in this film are truly amazing thanks to action choreographer  Kanal Kannan. And the music of Harris Jayaraj with whom I had done around nine films is fantastic. Harris is a big asset in my career. We completed Si-3 in 120 days as Hari is a fast worker and completes almost 80 shots a day without compromising on the quality of the product.  Singam brand has been a major milestone in my career and has given me a new reach.”

Sakthivelan of Dream Factory, closely associated with Studio Green concluded by saying: “ I saw Si-3, and feel it has huge potential because it is racy and entertaining. The film is already profitable as it has been sold for over Rs 100 Crore to the buyers worldwide. They have got fancy MG’s and sold some areas and made profits. Mark my words Si-3 will join the Rs 200 Crore club.”
