Sweety- Nanna Jodi
Aditya, Radhika Kumarswamy, Ramya Krishna, Girish Karnad
Actress turned director Vijaylakshmi?s movie Sweety Nanna Jodi is a movie about relationships with a nice message for all. A relationship of love and family values has been beautifully told in this movie and proves to be a thorough entertainer for the audience.
The story revolves around Priya (Radhika Kumarswamy), a modern girl who hails from a middle class family; she works in a software company and hates rich people. Vasundhara Devi (Ramya Krishna) is a rich woman who is separated from her husband (Jai Jagdeesh) and cares only for money and her stature in the society.
Her son Siddharth (Aditya) falls in love with Priya, he gets to know of her dislike toward rich people and in order to impress her, he lies that he belongs to a poor family. But eventually she finds out about his rich status.
How Siddharth wins her over is to be seen. Added to this, his mother Vasundhara gets to know about Priya and out of dislike she tries to separate the two without her son?s knowledge. This leads to nice little tug of war between Siddharth?s mother and lover respectively.
Radhika who has stepped into the silver screen after a huge gap of 6 years is a treat to watch and has given a brilliant performance. Aditya too has done his bit and has delivered a commendable performance. Both look really stylish in the movie. But it is Ramya Krishna who stands out from the rest with her outstanding performance as a caring and over possessive mother.
Dr. Girish Karnad has done justice to his small role in the movie. Comedian Sadhu Kokila, who is seen in a cameo role, has managed to tickle our funny bones. Jaydev who fills in as the main comedian has to improve his comic timing making us feel the need to watch Sadhu Kokila again.
The highlight of the movie is Ajay Vincent?s camera work; the whole movie is a visual treat with good performances by the artistes. He paints a pretty picture with every single frame. The technicality of the movie is too good making us feel a sense of grandeur. Arjun Janya?s music, is perfect for the said situation and appeals to all the classes in the society.
