Sivarama Krishna (Sunil) and Karthik (Naga Chaitanya) are brothers. Sivarama Krishna is a timid guy. He gets the job of a police officer when his father dies while in service.
He reluctantly accepts on the persistence of his brother Karthik. The city has a dreaded criminal Bagga (Asuthosh Rana) who has the police officers in his pockets. Sivarama Krishna fights with Bagga and wedges his smuggling goods.
Bagga vows to settle scores with them. Meanwhile, Sivarama Krishna marries Nandu (Andrea), and Karthik falls in love with Nandu`s sister Pallavi (Tamannaah). Rest of the drama is how the younger brother makes the timid cop brave and takes on the villain.
Tadakha is the remake of the Tamil hit, Vettai. But it reminded me strongly of the Bollywood flick, Sunil Shetty starrer Gopi Kishan which came out in the late nineties. I have not seen Vettai, but this Telugu version Tadakha offers some decent fun, and glamorous songs.
It doesn`t surprise you, nor does it provide boredom. As this is a typical mass masala film, there are hardly any novel scenes that we should point out particularly. What works for this film is the entertaining first half, the good chemistry between Chaitanya and Tamannaah. This girl scorches the screen with her glam show.
The scenes shot on Sunil and Chaitanya in the second half are also handled well.
On the down side, the film goes off track in the later part of second half. And there are many illogical scenes and fights too. Hero Chaitanya running faster than a train is one such.
Naga Chaitanya looks fresh in the movie and is stylish. Even performance wise, he has done a neat job. He shares great chemistry with Tamannaah, which is quite visible in the film since they were paired together in 100 % Love. Tamannaah has upped her glam quotient in this film and her role is limited.
After a long time, Sunil looks better in this film. He perfectly fits the role of a timid cop. He has Andrea Jeremiah as partner but she does not have anything to do in this film.
Ashutosh Rana as villain comes up with very good antics. He is believable as a menacing criminal. Brahmanandam`s comedy doesn`t evoke much laughter but he and Vennela Kishore have tried to entertain. Senior actress Ramaprabha is okay. Raghu Babu, Rama Prabha and Jayaprakash Reddy are ok.
The film has good technical values including decent cinematography and rich production values. On the music front, the `Gana Gana` song is hummable.
Dialogues are apt to the story. Director Dolly who directed romantic flick Konchem Istham Konchem Kastham earlier has shown his mark in this mass entertainer. Especially, he has done a good job in terms of balancing both Chaitanya and Sunil and elevating heroism.
Tadakha is a decent mass entertainer. Timepass flick. Entertaining first half and glamour quotient are its strong points.
