Tamannaah's Bollywood dreams go bust!

Tamannaah's big budget summer biggie with Ajay Devgan, Himmatwala has bombed at the box-office.

The Sajid Khan directed mass entertainer could only make Rs 31.1 Crore in its opening weekend, far below trade expectations.

Himmatwala was Tammu's big ticket to Bollywood , though she had earlier done a Hindi film Chand Sa Roshan Chehra many years back. However the actress came to south and conquered with a series of hits in Tamil and Telugu.

Recently she entered the Rs 1 Crore heroine club in Telugu by signing  Bellamkonda Suresh's son's debut film. Tammannah is also doing Ajith's next film with director Shiva.

However the failure of Himmatwala is a big setback for the Mumbai based actress who was eyeing an entry into Bollywood. In the film Sajid Khan made her look very glamorous, and in one song she even got kicked in the back by junior artists!

Noted critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh in his review said : "Tamannaah faces an uphill task of stepping into Sridevi's shoes and though she looks photogenic, there's no acting talent on display here".

It looks like ‘back to south’ for Tamannaah, though she is said to have signed two other Hindi films. Arch rivals in south movies Kajal Aggarwal and Ileana had debuted in hit films in Hindi, and is now on a much better wicket.
