Cheran’s Autograph is scorching the box-office in Tamilnadu and the film is slowly but surely turning out to be a mega blockbuster!
From 67 prints at the time of release the number has gone up to 90 now after 25 days. Women and students in spite of exams are thronging the theatres, which continue to do 80 to 90 percent businss during weekdays and 100 percent during weekends at all stations.
A week after the release, Autograph was expected to take a distributors' share of Rs 5 to 6 Crore but the collections have gone beyond everyone’s expectations and is likely to do business worth more than Rs 15 Crore! The film may be a bigger hit than last year's biggest hit Saamy which did Rs 15 Crore.
Meanwhile Kamalhassan’s Virumaandi had a successful run in cities with Satyam Cineplex alone giving a share of Rs 25 Lakhs but the film is doing average business in B and C centres. Sarath Kumar’s Gambeeram is very average and is puffing and panting to recover its cost of Rs 3 Crore. Surprisingly Satyaraj’s laugh riot Adithadi is doing above average business especially in B and C centres and will be a commission earner for its distributors.
