Oculus is the latest Hollywood horror flick to hit the screens. While the chills and thrills it offers are pretty much along expected lines – unexplained reflections in the mirror, animals behaving strangely, possessed people with permanent bad hair days and so on, it nevertheless manages to spook you out sufficiently to make sure you don’t stare at yourself in the mirror too much for the next couple of days at least.
The Conjuring which ran in many Indian theatres for weeks together (one might have thought Rajinikanth played a cameo role in it), was an old fashioned horror flick which terrified the pants off most people. Wanna play hide and seek? No, thank you. It’s possibly scarier than The Ring which most people cannot watch on their TV sets, convinced as they are that a strange girl is going to creep out of their screen any second.
