Trisha is undoubtedly the numero uno actress of Tollywood. Her sixth film Pournami releases today worldwide. It is one of the most eagerly awaited films produced by M.S.Raju the lucky producer of blockbusters like “Varsham” and “Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana”. It is the second film directed by Prabhu Deva. In this quick chat Trisha speaks
What is your role in Pournami?
It’s a great character. When Raju garu told me that I play Pournami, I agreed to do the film without hearing the story (laughs) as I was so excited to play the title role. It is a love story with a new style of narration never seen before on Indian cinema.
Tell us more about Pournami?
It is a period film happening in the 50’s and I appear post interval and what is interesting is my characterisation done by Prabhu Deva and M.S.Raju. The film is sure to leave a deep impact in the mind of the audience and I owe all my success in Telugu to M.S.Raju garu who has single handedly taken me under his wings and put me on a high pedestal in the industry. Her is my mentor, godfather, philosopher, guide and best friend all rolled into one. As much as it my film it is definitely Prabhas, Charmme and Sindhu Tolani’s film.
How is the experience of working with Chiranjeevi?
Great. He is such a down-to-earth person. And my role is a normal one with some cute scenes. It has the Murugadoss touch to it and I am really excited about the film.
Why did you agree to do a film with Chiranjeevi as you were always avoided films with senior actors?
I have never said that. It was just sheer coincidence that I got to do films with young heroes. And a role opposite Chiranjeevi garu is a dream-come-true for any actress.
What are your future projects?
I am doing Stalin and Sainikudu with Mahesh Babu. There are a few interesting offers but its too early to speak.
