Thompson will portray the character of Payne, a woman who gained notoriety for her jewel heists across the world.

Payne was the muse of a 2013 documentary named 'The Life and Crimes of Doris Payne'. Many incidences from her life, including her thefts, modus operandi, and arrests were showcased in the documentary.
Payne's life rights have been obtained by Codebalack Films which is a part of Lionsgate. Thompson will jointly produce the untitled flick with Codeblack's Jeff Clanagan. (ANI)
