In their recent statement, Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) announced that there will not be any further discussion with digital service providers as they couldn’t find any amicable solution in the past. TFPC made it clear that they are planning to meet theater owners across the state and decided to screen films in theaters which have their own projector and server.
TFPC has requested South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce, Exhibitors association, Directors Union, FEFSI to cooperate on this revolutionary move. A new team will be formed by TFPC to hold talks with theater owners in Tamil Nadu.
TFPC also added that they will not pay Visual Project Fee(VPF) to digital service providers and only handling charges can be spent from their pocket. From today (March 1), there will not be any new Tamil releases.
