The powerful Tamil Film Producers Council has decided to crack down on actresses who do not come for the promotions of their film. Recently Kajal Aggarwal and Saranya Mohan kept away from the promotions of their All in All Azhaguraja and Kolakalam respectively.

TFPC chief Kayaar said : “ I’m shocked that actresses who take huge amounts as salary do not come to promote their films. In Bollywood as per contract, an actress has to do her promotions. But here a lot of actresses after they complete the shoot disassociate from the film, as they don’t have to dub for the film.”

Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green and TFPC secretary said: “ Kajal Aggarwal just refused to turn up for any kind of promotions for our Diwali film All in All Azhaguraja, on the advice of her manager. I feel it is the duty of an actress to promote her film for it to reach the masses.”

TFPC has now decided to hold 20% of an actor’s final salary, till she does promotions of her film. They have written to Nadigar Sangam about it, as they feel actors should do promotions for a film to work at the box-office.
