Lal Jose

Star Cast

Kunchacko Boban, Sravana

Director Lal Jose narrates the story of a likeable youth from a remote village in Thattumpurathu Achuthan.

Achuthan (Kunchacko Boban) lives in Chelapram and is an accountant at a local vegetable vendor’s shop. One evening, after a booze session with his friends, Achuthan goes with one of them for an adventure that lands him in big trouble.

Soon after he finds a letter from which he learns about a girl named Jayalakshmi (Sravana), who is being blackmailed by her ex-lover. How Achuthan gets involved in the issue and his escapades thereafter takes the story ahead.

There are two key aspects in the story. A young boy named Konjoottan, who see the happenings in Achuthan’s life prior to it in his dream is one. At the beginning of the story itself he predicts that Achuthan’s wedding which was fixed will not happen. When that dream comes true, Achuthan starts believing Kunjoottan and they become friends.

Then there is the presence of Lord Krishna and the faith of the lead characters. Achuthan is a devotee of the Lord. Jayalakshmi’s family feels the blessing of Lord Krishna is helping them to sail through difficult situations.

Scenarist M Sindhuraj and director Lal Jose has stitched together a series of events from the life of Achuthan into an engaging journey, with beautiful visuals and excellent music.

Kunchacko Boban once again wins the hearts of the viewers with his ample charm. The whole story is narrated through his perspective and he does his role in a honest manner. Debutante Sravana makes a definite impression. Hareesh Kanaran, Vijayaraghavan, Nedumudi Venu, Kalabhavan Shajon and Bindu Panicker have done their parts well.

Thatthumpurathu Achuthan is a light hearted entertainer that has its fine moments. Grab some popcorn and enjoy this fun ride.
