It has not been easy going for Mani Ratnam and his Kadal in the last few days. The film has opened to mixed reviews with majority of the critics already writing the filmmaker off. Amidst all this criticism, Arvind Swamy has come out in defence of the film on a popular social networking site.
In a short letter, Arvind Swamy, who is making his comeback after 12 long years, said that he is aware of the mixed reviews the film has attracted, and that the entire team worked so hard to make Mani Ratnam’s dream come true, sometimes by braving storms and putting up with broken bones.
The actor also said that Kadal, which has two characters, each signifying two extremes, has garnered extreme reviews either in favour of the film or against it. Thanking his guru profusely, Arvind Swamy declared that to him it was Mani all the way, and that it was an honour and pleasure for him to work with him again.
