Moviegoers eager for their first look of The Tourist, the highly anticipated romantic thriller starring Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie, can catch the new theatrical trailer on the internet on September 15.

The film will be released in theatres nationwide on December 31.

Johnny Depp stars as an American tourist whose playful dalliance with a stranger leads to a web of intrigue, romance and danger in The Tourist.

During an impromptu trip to Europe to mend a broken heart, Frank (Depp) unexpectedly finds himself in a flirtatious encounter with Elise (Angelina Jolie), an extraordinary woman who deliberately crosses his path.

Against the breathtaking backdrop of Paris and Venice, their whirlwind romance quickly evolves as they find themselves unwittingly thrust into a deadly game of cat and mouse.

Directed by Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck, and written by Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck and Christopher McQuarrie and Julian Fellowes, The Tourist is a GK Films presentation in association with Spyglass.

The film is produced by Graham King, Tim Headington, Roger Birnbaum, Gary Barber and Jonathan Glickman. Studio Canal is also a partner on the production.

The Tourist trailer

The two-minute trailer is from Johnny Depp’s perspective, and gives you a brief sketch of what to expect from the film.

Depp’s dry humour comes through, and Angelina Jolie looks good in a role that she can play at the drop of a hat - that of a woman on the run after besting the top guns.

Europe is shot beautifully, and the film seems to be fast-paced with interesting action sequences.
