The Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) explained their stance in the aftermath of the recent press conference of the Women in Cinema Collective (WCC). President Mohanlal, General Secretary Edavela Babu, Sidhique, Jagadeesh, Baburaj, Rachana Narayanankutty and Aju Varghese included the executive members who addressed the media.
Mohanlal expressed his displeasure on being made the target of all the attacks, in the recent issues. On Revathy’s charge that he didn’t address them by their names but called them “actresses”, Mohanlal said that their organization represented actors and actresses. So why should one feel embarrassed in being called an “Actress”, he asked.
Jagadeesh and Sidhique said that they had no difference of opinion and it was only the style in which they explained things to the media which created some confusions.
KPAC Lalitha’s statement that those who resigned can apologize and comeback if they want was not meant in the literal sense, explained Mohanlal.
The AMMA President explained that right now their concern is not the status of the resigned actresses and they will address the issue, whenever it comes up.
