Industry insiders say that Vijay Antony’s Thimiru Pudichavan which was initially slated to release this Diwali has been now postponed to November 16, which means Thalapathy Vijay’s Sarkar will be preferred by almost 90% of theater owners in Tamil Nadu and thus making it as the biggest release for any Tamil film in the recent times.

But the major problem is that already Jyothika’s Kaatrin Mozhi, Jayam Ravi’s Adangamaru, Vijay Sethupathi’s Seethakathi, Nakul’s Sei, and Udhaya’s Utharavu Maharaja are scheduled to release on November 16. If Thimiru Pudichavan hit the screens on November 16, two small budget films Utharavu Maharaja and Sei will not get enough screens.

November 16 is a crucial date for all these films because on November 29, Rajinikanth’s ‘2.0’ will occupy all the theaters in Tamil Nadu and theaters will not entertain other movies until December second week.
