Jayam Ravi, Nivetha Pethuraj, Jayaparakash, Arjunan, Ramesh Tilak
Director Shakti Soundar Rajan who made India's first zombie thriller Miruthan takes us to the outer space in a way that no movie has done before. The film is one of the best and the first space action adventure in Indian cinema.
India comes to know that a massive asteroid is all set strike the country in seven days. This asteroid is capable of creating humongous disaster killing four crore people! Top army officials of India decide to steal the missile which is hidden in the Chinese space station, as only by using this deadly weapon that the asteroid can be destroyed.
In order to steal the missile from the high security vault in Chinese space station, army chief (Jayaparakash) and his core team Swathi(Nivetha Pethuraj) and Raghuram (Vincent Asokan) rope in an escape artist Vasu (Jayam Ravi) and his team, hacker Appu (Arjunan) and Venkat (Ramesh Tilak).

Right when everyone boards the spaceship, Vasu gets a call from an unknown stranger that his son Ravi (Aarav) is kidnapped. The stranger wants the missile and blackmails Vasu who agrees as he should save his son's life. What happens next?
Tik Tik Tik is definitely an ambitious attempt in Tamil cinema, the set work by art director Moorthy is commendable and the VFX team has also done a brilliant job. The film looks international with top notch visuals and packaged with enough emotions to make it a mass action entertainer. In fact, there is an emotional father-son sentiment angle and typical fight sequences set in the space station which has artificial gravity (cinematic liberty?). There are many logical loopholes, as it is not that easy for a petty thief to steal a missile from Chinese space station!
Kudos to Jayam Ravi for choosing such an unique genre and pushing the boundaries of Tamil industry. He is in excellent form, meeting the film’s intense physical demands and taking the character’s emotional journey in equal stride. His son Aarav gets a meaty debut. Nivetha Pethuraj looks lovely as an action heroine but performance wise she has nothing much to do. Jayaparakash's characterization and the twist in the climax is weak.
Technically Tik Tik Tik shines with breathtaking visuals from Venkatesh and intriguing background score from Imman, (Title song is awesome) as pointed out earlier, the production design and VFX works are top notch. Overall, for an Indian space film, Tik Tik Tik is a laudable attempt and a definite must-watch. Go in with patience and an open mind.

#TikTikTik - The dangerous asteroid attack & the team's risky space mission are established. Some typical commercial comedy elements are infused.

#TikTikTik: Unbelievable graphics, awesome BGM and goosebumps after goosebumps in this jump scene
Dear big budget producers, #TikTikTik is a lesson on how to make an enjoyable, content oriented movie without spending crores on trivial things. The minute attention to detail is definitely laudable still keeping the screenplay interesting! Well done team @actor_jayamravi

#TikTikTik - Not even 1% the budget of hollywood space movies. What this team has done is pioneering work, a blue print for indian space movies to come! Sakthi Soundara Rajan the genius. @immancomposer - Most understated Music director, BGM just rocks!!

#TikTikTik Should appreciate d Producer, Dir Shakthi & Jayam Ravi for trying to deliver a different film. Idea/plot is good, had lot of scope, but execution is not satisfying. Not much scope for any actors to perform well. Poor CG work. Imman’s Songs r gud. Avg. Good attempt!
#TikTikTik: VFX wise, it sets a benchmark with some fantastic visuals that are such a relish to see on Kollywood levels. @immancomposer's top notch BGM and the set work are huge positives.
