Timeline: Salman Khan’s blackbuck/chinkara poaching cases

Actor Salman Khan was found guilty on Thursday in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case while the other four accused stars -- Sonali Bendre, Saif Ali Khan, Tabu and Neelam -- were acquitted of all charges.

The trial of the case was in progress since the last 19 years and the judge in a court here had reserved the order after the final arguments on March 28, reported IANS.

Arguments were in progress in the court regarding the quantum of punishment for Salman.

Salman was accused in the case which took place while he was shooting for the film Hum Saath-Saath Hain in 1998. Jeev Raksha Bishnoi Sabha has protested against the decision of acquitting the other accused stars.

Their acquittal will be challenged in the high court, said Shivraj Bishnoi, state president of the organisation.

2018
April 5: After 20 years, Salman Khan is convicted in Blackbuck poaching case.

March 24: The lead counsel for the co-accused completed their argument.

January: Salman Khan appeared in Jodhpur court for closing arguments.

2017
September:
Prosecution counsel cited the tatements of the eyewitnesses of the case.

July: Jodhpur court acquits Khan in the Arms Case. The actor was not present during for verification of bail bonds due to security reasons.

2016
October:
The Government of Rajasthan argued in the Supreme Court that Salman should be ordered to surrender and asked to go back to jail.

July: Rajasthan High Court acquits Salman Khan in the two chinakara poaching cases.

2014
December:
The actor pleads to call the DCP & DM of Mumbai as his witness regarding the expiry of the license in the Arms case.

November: The Government of Rajasthan moves Supreme Court against the decision of High Court in allowing the actor to get UK visa.

November 5: Salman Khan moves SC and requests help to get UK visa to complete shoot schedule. Court reserves order.

2013
November:
Rajasthan High Court stayed the sentence of the actor. Salamn goes to the UK.

August: Salman Khan denied UK visa.

2012
December:
Charges against Salman Khan reversed by Rajasthan HC. The actor was charged with Section 9/51 of the Wildlife Protection Act.

2007
August 31: Salman Khan sentenced to 5 years in prison; spent a 6 day in jail. Sentence suspended. HC dropped charges under Arms Act.

August 24: Salman Khan's appeal rejected by Session Court.

2006
April:
Salman Khan convicted in the black buck hunting case under the Act of Wildlife Protection Act; fined Rs 5,000 along with five years of jail.

1998
October 12: Salman Khan arrested and released on bail.

October 2: Complaint lodged against Salman Khan and 4 others involved in the killing of blackbucks.

September 28: Salman Khan accused of hunting another blackbuck at Ghoda farms two days later.

September 26: Salman Khan, along with his co-stars, Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendra, Tabu and Neelam, from Hum Saath Saath Hain, are accused of blackbucks/chinkaras during the shooting for the film.
