The trailer and positive talk about Hey Jude has generated a lot of excitement....
Hey Jude is a film very close to my heart and I would like to call it a “special” film. I play Crystal a character who is very real. I had lot of positive vibes while shooting for the film and even now. I am quite confident that this film whatever be the box-office results, will definitely be a wonderful, feel-good entertainer for everyone.

How close were you to the character of Crystal in the film?
I play Crystal Ann Chakraparambu aka Crystal aka Crys , a spirited Malayalee girl who lives in Goa along with my dad. I run a beach shack, a singer with my own band “Beatles”. I like to live life to the fullest and I am quite an ‘abnormal’ girl ... special in every way (Laughs) I simply loved my character even while I heard the first narration from Shyamaprasad sir and to be honest the entire shoot was like a blast, a holiday.

When I spoke to you couple of years back about doing other language films, you were not keen. But after Telugu you did a Kananda and now a Malayalam film. How did Shyamaprasad convince you?
(Smiles) yeah.. I was very skeptical about Malayalam as the movies they make are so intense and realistic. I had this block in my head. But when Shyam sir met me, narrated the script and gave me a bound script to read I fell in love with Crys. She is not that typical Malayalee girl and it was a role that I’ve never done so far. Added to that I knew Nivin and have met him couple of times at award functions and we became friends. So I was excited to take up this film as a challenge. I feel blessed to be a part of Hey Jude and can confidently say that I couldn't have asked for a better debut in Malayalam.

What is Hey Jude all about?
It is poetic, feel-good and emotional. The film has comedy, love and friendship. It is all about these two characters Jude and Crys who are dysfunctional, quirky and at times eccentric.  Nivin has done a great job and I learnt a lot from Shyam sir...it is more like working with Mani sir or Kamal sir. There is nothing called hierarchy in Shyam sir’s sets and I had this wonderful team of assistant directors who treated me like a queen. We all used to hang out after shoots and work was so fast and meticulous. As the film was shot in sync sound, it was extremely challenging and I had to do a lot of preparation before we went for the final take..

Where did you shoot in Goa?
A major part of the movie was hot in Goa. In fact there is a small Malayalee community of Anglo-Indian who live in Goa and we shot there.. and in a song some of them also joined the shoot.  A few scenes of underwater diving scenes were shot in Mangalore and a bit in Kochi

So are you excited and did you watch the film?
I am watching it in Chennai with my family FDFS. I am very excited as it’s my first release in 2018 and remember I was shooting continuously last year and didn’t have a single release after Kodi. Now I am waiting to hear what everyone has to say (smiles) about the film.
