The decision of the TV channels not to buy almost every film that comes out, which was the practice during earlier times, has resulted in Mollywood going through a terrible phase this year. The number of films being made has gone down considerably this year.
Now there is a news spreading that the TV channels have agreed to buy the unsold films, mainly made last year.
According to some believable sources, the TV channels decided to take this stance, after the industry associations made it clear that the stars will not appear in TV programmes during Onam season. As the programmes with stars in it are big hits, TV channels came up with this suggestion to woo the associations. Now, these are rumours and can only be partially true as well.
