Generally, ‘Thalapathy’ Vijay films are hot in the Television market, thanks to his huge family audiences fanbase. Despite grossing more than 150cr, the Tamil satellite rights of actor’s ‘Theri’ is yet to be sold as the film’s producer Thanu thought that the price offered by TV channels didn’t meet his expectations.
Currently, Theri can be legally viewed by Tamil audiences only through Amazon Prime, a digital online streaming platform. The latest update is that the Hindi satellite rights of Theri have been bought by Sony Max and the channel is planning to telecast the film on July 1 at 8 P, which is the first television premiere of the film.
Meanwhile, Thalapathy Vijay is busy shooting for Theri director Atlee’s big budget action entertainer ‘Mersal’ in Chennai.
