One time popular actor in Telugu, Uday Kiran (33) committed suicide by hanging himself in his flat at Srinagar colony, Hyderabad on Sunday night (Jan 5).
Kiran’s wife Vishita and neighbours rushed him to Apollo hospital at Jubilee Hills after finding his body hanging to the ceiling in a room. Doctors of the hospital declared him brought dead.
The 33-year-old Uday Kiran got married to his long-time friend Vishita on October 24, 2012 and ended his life 20 days ahead of his 34th birthday. The actor’s first three films Chitram, Nuvvu Nenu and Manasantha Nuvve in Telugu were super – hits and got him the ‘lover boy’ image. .
Uday Kiran got engaged to the daughter of mega star and Union Minister Chiranjeevi in 2003. The proposed marriage was cancelled at the last minute. Kiran continued his career in films but could not secure successful films.
Popular for his romantic roles in Telugu films, the actor has done a few films in Tamil like Poi directed by K, Balachander. His last release was Pen Singam opposite Meera Jasmine in 2010. Uday Kiran was trying to re-launch his career and had signed up an untitled Tamil film.
Tollywood heroes, directors and musicians rushed to the hospital to pay homage to the actor. Actor Srikanth expressing his shock over Kiran’s death said that the police should ascertain causes that compelled him to resort to the extreme step
