Hero Uday Kiran is no more. He committed suicide by hanging himself. He was 33 years old.

According to the police, he committed suicide on Monday night in his flat at Srinagar colony. His wife was not at home at the time of his death. On Monday evening his wife went to a party and Uday told her he would pick her up later. When she called him around 11pm, he didn`t attend the call. At 12 am, she and her parents came to the apartment and found Uday dead. They immediately rushed him to Apollo Hospital but doctors declared him dead.

Born on June 26 in 1980 in Hyderabad, Uday Kiran shot to fame with Teja directed Chitram in 2000. With Nuvvu Nenu, he became a star and after the success of Manasantha Nuvve, he became a hearthrob.

Films like Sriram, Kalusukovalani and Holi followed, establishing him a top star. He went on to do films in Tamil too. He acted in K Balachander`s Po (released as Abaddam in Telugu).

But soon flops piled up. From 2008 onward he has been going through a rough patch. After his mother`s recent death and his father`s remarriage, he went into depression. But he got out of it and married a Hyderabadi girl, Visitha in October 2012.

What drove him to take this tragic step is not known yet. Is it because of his frustration with the non-happening career? Whatever be the reason, his death left his friends and well-wishers in the film industry in deep shock.
