Nimir

Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Nimir has got a clean ‘U’ certificate from the censor board. Sources say that the makers had plans to release the film for Pongal keeping in the mind that either Sketch or Thaanaa Serndha Koottam would back out from the Pongal race. On his Twitter page, Udhayanidhi Stalin has tweeted that a special announcement on Nimir will be made soon.

In an earlier press statement, producers of Nimir mentioned that they are planning for a grand theatrical release on Republic Day but due to the uncertainty among the Pongal releases, they had an alternative plan.

Now, we have wait and see whether the film will hit the screens for Pongal or Republic Day. Produced by Santhosh Kuruvilla's Moonshot Entertainment and Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Red Giant Movies, veteran filmmaker Priyadarshan has directed Nimir, which is a remake of Malayalam hit ‘Maheshinte Prathikaaram’.
