Nearly two years in the box which was followed by litigations, cameraman Jeeva’s debut film Ullam Ketkume finally released last Friday. It is being well received by the audience. Everyone had written off the film, but surprisingly collections are good and the trade feels that the film may turn out to be sleeper hit.
Ullam Ketkume has taken 90 percent opening in four Chennai screens with the huge Devi theatre (seating capacity of 1280 seats) going full in the opening weekend. And on Monday, collections have only dropped marginally which is another positive sign.
The success of Ullam Ketkume has proved that there is always an audience for a film if the presentation is good irrespective of star cast. The film has also given a new lease of life to its hero Shaam while Arya and Asin who made their debut with this film have already established themselves earlier.
And in rest of Tamilnadu, the film carries good reports and the ‘court receivers’ are now planning to increase the number of prints this week.
