"India Film Project to be held Sep 20-28"
The third edition of the India Film Project, which gives budding filmmakers a platform to showcase their work, will be held Sep 20-28 in Ahmedabad. Filmmakers like Tigmanshu Dhulia, Nikhil Advani and Bejoy Nambiar are on the jury this year.

As Indian cinema celebrates its century, director Nikhil Advani says this is the most exciting time for filmmakers as they are experimenting and getting creative freedom thanks to flexible audiences.

Long ignored, Indian animation has finally come into the limelight with Nikhil Advani's "Delhi Safari", which won the best animated film honour at the 60th National Film Awards. The director says Indian cinema, celebrating 100 years, still doesn't recognise the power of animation.
   
"Indian animation industry stuck in mythological mode"
It's sad but true that the $2 billion Indian film industry, touted as one of the largest in the world, still treats animation as an orphaned child.
