He waited 25 years for his return and for vengeance. And when he finally does return, it's fultu dhamaal! Son of Sardar is like smooth butter on a Punjabi paratha. It's a delicious laugh riot with peppy songs, supreme camerawork, jaw-dropping stunts and great performances.

Never before has a family feud and vengeance been this funny. Son of Sardar is extremely underrated.

The plot features two rival families. This basic plot is further developed by an excellent screenplay by Robin Bhatt and Ashwani Dhir with a spicy tadka of fully enjoyable lyrical dialogues and foot tapping Punjabi numbers. Itís a pure potboiler like Ready, Singham and Dabanng. Don't look for logic. Just be entertained!

Ashwani Dhir, the director, has done a pretty good job to develop the simple plot into an enjoyable ride. First, he has covered the colors of Punjab very beautifully and is very authentic. Second, the character sketch of such a wide ensemble cast is well thought and well presented. Third , the camerawork by cinematographer Aseem Bajaj is one of the best ever seen. The stunt director has also done excellent work.

Ajay Devgn is supremely good as a Sardar. He is perfect in comical timing as well as intense scenes. Sonakshi is a treat for the eyes! And Sanjay Dutt is one of the most enjoyable Punjabi villain you could have ever seen. Juhi Chawla is refreshing. Mukel dev, Bindu, Tanuja all played their roles well.

As for the music, Bichdann is Son of Sardar. Po Po, Son of Sardar, Rani tu Main Raja and Tu Kamal di Kudi are foot-tapping but don't make sense lyrically.
