plot features two rival families. This basic plot is further developed
by an excellent screenplay by Robin Bhatt and Ashwani Dhir with a
spicy tadka of fully enjoyable lyrical dialogues and foot tapping
Punjabi numbers. Itís a pure potboiler like Ready,
Singham and Dabanng. Don't look for logic. Just be
Ashwani Dhir, the director, has done a pretty good job
to develop the simple plot into an enjoyable ride. First, he has
covered the colors of Punjab very beautifully and is very authentic.
Second, the character sketch of such a wide ensemble cast is well
thought and well presented. Third , the camerawork by cinematographer
Aseem Bajaj is one of the best ever seen. The stunt director has also
done excellent work.
Ajay Devgn is supremely good as a Sardar. He is
perfect in comical timing as well as intense scenes. Sonakshi is a
treat for the eyes! And Sanjay Dutt is one of the most enjoyable
Punjabi villain you could have ever seen. Juhi Chawla is refreshing.
Mukel dev, Bindu, Tanuja all played their roles well.
As for the
music, Bichdann is Son of Sardar. Po Po, Son
of Sardar, Rani tu Main Raja and Tu Kamal di Kudi
are foot-tapping but don't make sense lyrically.
