'Nice and Slow' singer Usher is the latest star to get embroiled in a plagiarism allegation.

The 32-year-old star was charged by a little-known songwriter Ernest Lee Straughter, who claims the hitmaker's chart topping hit 'Burn' is more than a little similar to his track 'The Reasons Why'.

The Singer-songwriter has filed a suit against Usher, his co-writers and producer Jermaine Dupri, reported Contactmusic.

A California federal judge has accepted a musicologist's report that noted substantial similarity between the two songs.

According to Billboard.com, Usher's lawyers are pleading with the judge to re-examine the case.

Straughter's tune appeared on an album by R andB group Reel Tight under the name No More Pain in 1998. (ANI)
