Veerappan saga on screen

Noted Kannada director AMR Ramesh who specialises on real life incidents is now making a film on the life and times of the forest brigand Veerappan.

Ramesh shot into fame by making films like Cyanide or Kuppi in Tamil, based on the Rajiv Gandhi assassination. Now Ramesh is all set to shoot a film titled Vana Yuddham on Veerappan who was killed by Tamil Nadu Special Task Force (STF) in 2004.

The bilingual in Kannada and Tamil has Kishore of Polladhavan fame playing the role of the forest brigand Veerappan.



Vijayalakshmi is going to do the role of his wife Muthulakshmi. Action King Arjun is going to play STF chief Vijayakumar's role, while Ravi Kalai will play Senthamarai Kannan the SP of the STF.

Sulakhana is going to be Parvathamma, wife of legendary Kannada actor Rajkumar who was kidnapped by Veerappan.

Says AMR Ramesh: "I have done intense research on Veerappan as I specialise in doing films on real life incidents. Vana Yuddham will be shot in actual locations of Gopinatham and Hogenekkal villages where
the Veerappan saga started."
