Finally, Ilayathalapathy Vijay and ace director AR Murugadoss have come together to do an all-out action adventure film.
Murugadoss, who has worked with Ajith and Suriya, will now be doing a Vijay film for the first time.
As per our sources, Vijay loved ARM's script and felt it had the potential to work big time at the box office.
A Mumbai-based company initially showed interest in the project but backed out later as the budget was pegged around Rs 65 crore.
The grapevine was abuzz that it was star salaries, especially director Murugadoss demanding Rs 12 crore for script and direction, that drove the Mumbai producers away.
Now, the latest we hear is that Vijay's father SA Chandrasekhar will make it a home production and the film will start rolling by the end of the year.
By then Velayudham would have released and Vijay would also have completed Shankar's Nanban.
Murgadoss, who has now completed 7am Arivu with Suriya, will fine tune the script and also choose the rest of the star cast and technical crew.
The buzz is that Vijay and Murugadoss are trying to rope in Deepika Padukone to play the heroine.
