Ravi Teja, Anushka, Prakash Raj, Vineeth Kumar
Story wise there is nothing new as it is old wine in new tetra pack. Rajamouli has helped himself by taking the thread of Amitabh Bachchan?s 1976 actioner Don and 80?s Vijaykanth film from Tamil. The potent mixture is deadly and the packaging is racy and entertaining.
The story- Attilisati Babu (Ravi Teja) is a petty thief who is brave and daring. One day a small girl comes to him and says that she is his daughter! It turns out that the girl is the daughter of Babu?s look-alike Vikram Rathod a cop in hiding in Hyderabad from dreaded Chambal bandits. Rathod dies in an encounter with the baddies and our local hero takes his place, goes to Chambal and cleans up the place of all evil men. Keeping him company is Neeraja (Anushka) for the songs!
The packaging of action, sentiments, glamour and comedy in the right mix makes the film watchable. The ?Jinataka?Jintaka?? number scorches the screen and Anushka (a yoga teacher in real life) strike sexy poses and is definitely a highlight. The action scenes are well-choreographed by Ram Lakshman. Comedy between the aunties and the hero is hilarious and the film emerges as a delight to people seeking good entertainment. Ravi Teja has emerged as a mass hero with this film.
On the downside, the music of Keeravani is very average and the film is too lengthy and the climax could have been trimmed a bit. On the whole, Vikramarkudu is a masala entertainer and is OK timepass fare.
Verdict: Paisa Vasool
