Dhanush is chilled out even after a long day at work. Neither has his energy level dipped nor did the smile on his face lose its fizz. His popularity cuts across gender, language and borders. In this exclusive quick chat with Sridevi Sreedhar, he confesses "I am truly blessed"! And we agree...
Your ambitious film 'Velai Illa Pattadhari' is releasing big. What are your expectations?
I do my work sincerely and leave the rest to God. I don't expect anything out of anything or anybody. Guess it works better (smiles). VIP has shaped out well as a total packaged entertainer.
VIP is your 25th film. Are you proud of it?
Of course I am. I couldn't ask for more (Smiles). It will satisfy my fans, youth audiences and families. It has all the commercial ingredients in a fine balance. I am waiting to hear the feedback from audiences when it releases tomorrow.
Are you tensed?
No. I've grown up in this profession and learned a lot by observing things. You can only survive here if you stand the test of time. Yes, hits and flops are important but the right attitude is the most important. Right now if you ask me my state of mind, it will be "excited"
Your home banner Wunderbar Films is riding high, and the driving force behind it is your passion. Am I right?
Success demands sacrifices. I devote a lot of time and enjoy being a part of production team. Nothing comes easy in life and Wunderbar has been the effort of team work. I have an excellent team of people working for me. The idea behind it is to give openings to fresh talent and in VIP I have introduced two new actors and 2 technical people. What do you think is the success mantra these days?
It's right marketing and today even if you have an excellent product in hand, marketing and visibility takes it a notch higher. VIP is being released by Escape Artists P. Madan and they are doing a good job.
How was it working with Velraj?
Velraj is like a part of my family and I have worked with him in many projects. We have a perfect understanding and that has reflected in the film.
