Tamil Film Producers Council’s President Vishal has confirmed that Karthik Subbaraj’s Mercury will be first Tamil release after the strike.
“I should not say this but Mercury team is facing piracy issues because they had already released the film outside Tamil Nadu. Considering the support Karthik Subbaraj and team gave us, Mercury will be releasing this Friday. Two more small Tamil films might join Mercury but the respective producers have to confirm”, said Vishal.
Talking about Kaala and Vishwaroopam 2, Vishal said: “Both the films will have a pan-India release. We will support the producers of Kaala as they cooperated with us during the strike and postponed their release date. Kamal sir had planned to release Vishwaroopam 2 in May but only the respective teams should confirm the release date. We have a release regulation committee through which producers can pre-book their release dates”.
On reducing the remuneration of actors, Nadigar Sangam members are meeting in Chennai on Saturday.
