Comedian actor Vivek is turning a new leaf. He is all set to do a serious role without his characteristic punchlines.
Vivek is turning serious with Naan Thaan Bala, directed by debutant R Kannan a former associate of director Bala.
Vivek is going to play the role of a Hindu priest in a Perumal temple in Kumbakonam, who gets into a relationship with a local thug. The role has no comedy elements that he is associated with, but there will be comedy from others and a neat message.
The comedian said he took up the role after Kamal Haasan and director Bala advised him to try something different. Said Vivek : “ Kamal sir said that I have been doing comedy for the past 25 years and needs a move on in life. It was he who made me convinced to do this role.”
