Amitabh Bachchan was clearly looking his best when he arrived at the Baabul game launch event on Tuesday at a suburban hotel in Mumbai. He launched the multiplayer online game based on his film Baabul designed by gaminghungama

When quizzed if he supports the move of having a game for a movie like Baabul, he was quick to reply, “If the game will help the movie then I’m game for it.”

He went on to add, “This is a world where technology has progressed and one can access information, play games on the internet and mobile phones, etc. and if that promotes your film and people come to watch it, I think it’s wonderful.”

So how much would the game actually help the movie? “With new technology coming up, obviously marketing technology will change. How to present them and how to make sure a large number of people come to watch a film and every possible effort that goes into doing that needs to be lauded.”

Not many would know but Amitabh already has a number of mobile games under his belt including those of Sholay, Ek Ajnabee, Deewar, Sarkar, Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna.

With so many games made after his movies one wonders if he is an avid gamer. “I used to play video games when they had just started about 25 years ago. I play with my grandchildren now and they beat me. I must say it is quite embarrassing,” said he sheepishly, but obviously in a good mood.

And does he have any video games at home played by Abhishek or his grandchildren? “Shah Rukh Khan had gifted me a new video game and said he himself would come over to my house to set it up. The video game came, but he never did. So the game is just lying there.”

Well, Sexy Sam… we sure hope SRK makes a trip to your home and we see the Bachchan family engrossed in front of the idiot box.
