A major fight has erupted in the Tamil audio market over which album is selling the best.
The three major audio labels in Kollywood, Think Music, Sony Music and Venus are involved in a bitter battle, as they are aggressively promoting their films.
The music directors themselves and the respective heroes of the film involved are also getting into the fray as they tweet or claim in their Facebook profiles that their films are topping the charts!
Sources close to Harris Jayaraj had said some time back, that his Engeyum Kadhal (Sony Music) title song is topping the charts.
GV Prakash and Dhanush have been shouting from the roof top that their Yathe Yathe song from Aadukalam (Think Music) is the real chartbuster.
Simbu has said that his single track in Vaanam (Venus) tuned by Yuvan Shankar Raja is topping the charts.
Devi Sri Prasad, at the first promotional press meet of Manmadhan Ambu (Venus) said: "Ask anybody in the market, Manmadhan Ambu music is a hit especially Kamal sir's Neeela Vaanam, number which is topping the charts".
So who is really topping the charts in the battle between Harris Jayaraj, Yuvan Shankar Raja, GV Prakash and Devi Sri Prasad?
A music industry analyst says: "All these albums are having decent downloads mainly due to the fans of the actors involved, but in physical, CD sales in music stores it is just average. There is nothing extraordinary about any of the albums, its all hype and hoopla to promote the film."
Meanwhile Radio Mirchi (98.3 FM) in their top 20 for the week ending December 4, has placed Yathe Yathe from Aadukalam in the number one position.
It has overtaken Enthiran's 'Kilimanjaro' number. Engeyum Kadhal title song is at number 5 and Evandi Onna from Vaanam at number 12. DSP's Manmadhan Ambu title song is at number 14!
