A 115-year-old person, who inherited the title of the world's oldest living person less than two weeks ago, died on Monday morning at the Bishop Drumm Retirement Center in Johnston, Iowa.

Guinness officials awarded the title to Dina Manfredini after 116-year-old Besse Cooper died on December 4, the Telegraph reported.

Manfredini's granddaughter Lori Logli said that she had been suffering from fever.

Logli said that Manfredini looked very young for her age and had salt-and-pepper hair until she was about 110 years old.

"She could not believe that she was as old as she was.

"When we would tell her she would just shake her head in disbelief. She'd say, 'Oh, I'm an old lady'," she said.

According to Guinness officials, Manfredini was born on April 4, 1897, in Italy and moved to the US in 1920 and settled in Des Moines with her husband.

Robert Young, a senior consultant of gerontology for Guinness said that on December 13, Manfredini became Number 10 on the list of world's longest-living people.

She also holds the title of the world's longest-living immigrant because of her move to the US.

Logli said that her grandmother was primarily a homemaker and mother. She had four children, seven grandchildren and more than a dozen great-grandchildren. (ANI)
