|Sundeep Kishan, Jagan, Dimple|
The trailer rocked big time, but the film is nowhere near it. In short debutant director Madhan Kumar’s Yaaruda Mahesh is a fun ride with lot of speed breakers.
Yaaruda Mahesh is an adult comedy with lots of double entendres and some sex gags. The film works in bits and pieces and drags big time in the second half with a contrived climax. The story line is thin and film depends on one-liners to move forward.
Shiva (Sundeep Kishan) is a lazy laid back guy who could never get through college. He spends most of his time boozing in bars with his buddy Vasanth (Jagan). Soon he falls for the smart and attractive Sindhiya (Dimple) and makes her pregnant! After marriage Shiva is contended to be the ‘dad at home’ and refuses to take charge. But a stray conversation of Sindhiya with her ex-lover changes his life.
The first half of the film is quite enjoyable with a lot of adult jokes, but in the second half, as the hero searches for the heroine’s ex-lover it starts losing steam. Most of the jokes fall flat as they are repeated and screenplay goes haywire. And audiences can predict the climax which is a big let down.
The films works mainly due to Jagan, he is rollicking as hero’s best friend and has a terrific comedy timing and dialogue delivery style that leaves the viewers in splits. Sundeep Kishan and new girl Dimple are adequate for their roles. One of the major irritants is the music and back ground score of Gopi Sundar which is loud and there are too many songs including two item numbers!
On the whole the film is meant for the youth audiences, but the director should have taken a little more trouble in coming out with a better script than just depending on one-liners.
