YRF launches youth film studio Y-Films

Keeping with its vision to provide a platform for young and budding talent, Yash Raj Films launched its new youth film studio Y-Films, unveiling a line up of three movies slated to release this year.

Y-Films also showcased their new crop of directors and stars for the three films here yesterday.

"Youth is a segment which is not only big but also too important to ignore. Y-Films continues Yashraj Films trends of breaking new genres. With the focus on youth we hope to create a brand of cinema that will capture the hearts and imagination of this elusive bunch and rock their world,"  said Yashraj Films Vice Chairman Aditya Chopra.

Ashish Patil, former head of youth music channel MTv in India will be heading Y-Films.

"With Y-Films we promise to deliver great films.. of the youth by the youth and for the youth.. We will provide a platform for new talent both on screen and behind the screen," Patil said.

The first film, releasing on May 6 under this banner Luv Ka The End is directed by Bumpy and would feature Shraddha Kapoor (Shakti Kapoor's daughter) and introduces Taaha Shah.

The second film titled Mujhse Fraanship Karoge is a romantic comedy against the backdrop of social networking. The third film is Virus Diwan. Both the films will be released in the later half of the year.
