-ANI): At least one security person was killed and two others injured when a security checkpost was attacked by unknown gunmen in Pakistan's northwest city of Peshawar on Thursday morning, reported local media Dunya.
The attack took place at about 11:40 a.m. local time when unknown gunmen opened fired at a checkpost guarded by Frontier Corps, a paramilitary force in Pakistan, in the Budhber area of Peshawar.
One FC member was killed and two others injured in the attack. The attackers fled the scene after FC retaliated. Other details about the attack are not immediately available.
Over the last 24 hours, several attacks were launched against the security forces in the country. On Friday afternoon, an army convoy was hit by a bomb in Pakistan southwest city of Quetta, leaving five people including three soldiers and two passersby dead and 15 others wounded.
Hours later, a police vehicle was attacked by unknown militants in the country's northwest Bannu district, in which four cops were killed and several others injured. (Xinhua-ANI)
