144 players to be auctioned for IPL V

Mumbai, Jan 30 (IBNS) Brendon McCullum, V.V.S. Laxman and Sreesanth will be among the several players from the terminated franchise Kochi Tuskers' who will be up for grabs for IPL auction in Bangalore on February 4.

Some 144 players will be auctioned for this year´s IPL.

Laxman, Sreesanth and McCullum have the highest reserve price of 400,000.

Sri Lankan captain Mahela Jayawardene and spin legend Muttiah Muralitharan - who retired from international cricket after the 2011 World Cup - have been valued at $300,000 followed by RP Singh and Parthiv Patel ($200,000) and Ravindra Jadeja, Vinay Kumar, Ramesh Powar and VRV Singh ($100,000).

"The shortlist comprises some outstanding cricket talent. Given that it was prepared on the basis of the feedback of the franchises themselves, the stage is set for an exciting and eventful Player Auction, this Saturday," Rajeev Shukla, the IPL chairman, said on the list announced.
