Guwahati, Nov 10 (IBNS) Fresh violence has again unsettled the Bodoland Territorial Area District (BTAD) region as two people were killed by miscreants in two separate incidents in Assam's trouble-torn Kokrajhar on Saturday, officials said.
The first incident took place at Gossaigaon area in the morning, when an armed group fired on three farmers when they were working in their paddy field.
"A farmer was killed on the spot while others managed to escape," a police official said.
The deceased farmer was identified as Ainul Sheikh.
In another incident a miscreant killed a person in Kokrajhar.
The district administration has sounded high alert after the incidents.
Recently, at least 76 people were killed and over four lakh people were displaced in violence in BTAD area of lower Assam.
More than 39,000 people are still in relief camps in Dhubri, Kokrajhar and Chirang districts.
